105 Quarterbacks Ranked, Dallas Wilson's Big Debut and Desperately Needed Waiver Wire Targets

105 Quarterbacks Ranked, Dallas Wilson's Big Debut and Desperately Needed Waiver Wire Targets

Week 6 is when the pieces start to fall into place. The 2026 class is starting to take shape, rankings are starting to settle and it is time to take an honest look at whether the waiver wire can save your roster or if trading for draft picks is a better strategy. In this week's edition of the Rookie Big Board:

  • 105 dynasty and devy quarterbacks ranked into 7 tiers
  • 5 players to target on your dynasty waiver wire, available in 76% of leagues
  • 22 devy risers from college football Week 6, including a freshman breakout and a few quarterbacks experiencing rebounds in value

I will refer to my rankings throughout this article. You can check them out and get personalized advice on your roster here.

QB Tiers: Ranking the Top 105

105 dynasty and devy quarterbacks, ranked.

The quarterback landscape has changed dramatically over the first five weeks of the NFL season and six weeks of the College Football season. The Rookie Big Board rankings differentiate themselves by comparing value directly between dynasty, the next rookie class and devy prospects. The rankings also emphasize tiers that directly relate to fantasy football production.

This week, I am sharing my full quarterback rankings. Rookie Big Board patrons get a rankings update, including every position, every Wednesday. The tiers I present here are Superflex, non TEP but patrons can view the rankings as SF, 1QB and as TEP. The actual rankings also include much more detail, including a ranking value, exposure suggestion and draft capital projection for devy prospects.

Keep in mind that my ranking of devy players (including 2026 prospects) factor time to production in their value-meaning they will gain value as they get closer to seeing NFL action.

Tier 1 - Gold Chip

Quarterbacks who consistently produce in the top 3 of scoring with the potential to be the QB1 overall each and every week. You can't overspend to add these players to your roster.

Pretty simple start-these two are in a clear league of their own. Allen is the QB1 to start the season and has looked fantastic. Jackson is QB2 in fantasy points/game and his injury is not extensive enough for me to drop him down the rankings.

  • Lamar Jackson
  • Josh Allen

Tier 2 - Franchise Cornerstone

Quarterbacks who consistently produce as mid-range QB1s with QB1 overall potential each and every week. These are high-value assets that you can build a fantasy football championship roster around.

Drake Maye (QB6) and Caleb Williams (QB14) are the early season standouts from this tier. The 2024 rookies join veterans Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert, whose offenses have been more fantasy friendly this season.

  • Jayden Daniels
  • Jalen Hurts
  • Joe Burrow
  • Justin Herbert
  • Patrick Mahomes
  • Caleb Williams
  • Drake Maye

Tier 3 - League Winner

Quarterbacks who consistently produce as low-end QB1s and come with the upside to be top 6 scorers over the course of the season. They are no-brainers to be in your line-ups and if they got hot can win you the league.

Baker Mayfield is a massive early season riser, performing as QB2 in fantasy points/game. Nix and Love have had a slower than ideal start to their season but have flashed enough to give me confidence they belong in this tier. Call me stubborn on McCarthy-when he is healthy he will win you leagues.

  • Bo Nix
  • JJ McCarthy
  • Jordan Love
  • Baker Mayfield

Tier 4 - Impact Starter

Quarterbacks who consistently produce in the QB13-QB18 range with the upside to put up weekly QB1 performances. They are locked into your starting line-up each and every week.

The 2026 rookie class enters the conversation here. Garrett Nussmeier has not looked healthy but is the default QB1 in a class that lacks a clear top pick. Sellers has the athleticism to be a fantasy star, but is likely to opt for an extra season of college football.

CJ Stroud, Trevor Lawrence and Kyler Murray are early season fallers. Stroud and Murray seem to be trapped in bad offenses while Lawrence has failed to consistently meet the lofty expectations that come with being Liam Coen's quarterback.

  • Cam Ward
  • Dak Prescott
  • Kyler Murray
  • Jared Goff
  • Garrett Nussmeier, LSU
  • LaNorris Sellers, South Carolina
  • Trevor Lawrence
  • CJ Stroud
  • Brock Purdy
  • Daniel Jones

Tier 5 - Weekly Starter

Quarterbacks who may lack either ceiling or floor but produce in the QB13-QB24 range on average. Unless you have a deep QB room, they will be in your lineups every week.

This tier is dominated by 2026 rookies and devy players. Fernando Mendoza and Dante Moore are the two biggest devy risers to start the season. True freshman Bryce Underwood is the highest ranked 2028 eligible player. John Mateer was a red hot 2026 prospect before he suffered a throwing hand injury. Remember, time to production is factored into my rankings-so Bryce Underwood may very well be in a higher tier once he is a rookie, but you need to account for a 3 year wait time.

  • Fernando Mendoza, Indiana
  • Dante Moore, Oregon
  • Sam Darnold
  • Arch Manning, Texas
  • Bryce Young
  • Bryce Underwood, Michigan
  • Jaxson Dart
  • John Mateer, Oklahoma
  • Dillion Gabriel
  • Michael Penix Jr
  • Julian Sayin, Ohio State
  • Dylan Raiola, Nebraska

Tier 6 - Flex Filler

Players who project as flex options. Low end QB2/high end QB3 who you don't want to rely on weekly but can help in BYE weeks and when injuries pile up.

This is where the rankings get wide open. The 2026 quarterback class has a lot of prospects with potential who have not put it together-Ty Simpson, Carson Beck, Cade Klubnik, Sam Leavitt, Drew Allar. You will also find exciting underclassmen like Malik Washington, Demond Williams, CJ Bailey and Jaron Keawe Sagapolutele.

  • Cade Klubnik, Clemson
  • Sam Leavitt, Arizona State
  • Gunner Stockton, Georgia
  • Matthew Stafford
  • Carson Beck, Miami
  • Jayden Maiava, USC
  • Tua Tagovailoa
  • Keelon Russell, Alabama
  • Malik Washington, Maryland
  • DJ Lagway, Florida
  • Demond Williams, Washington
  • Darian Mensah, Duke
  • Drew Allar, Penn State
  • Jackson Arnold, Auburn
  • Tyler Shough
  • Aaron Rodgers
  • Spencer Rattler
  • Mac Jones
  • Jaron Keawe Sagapolutele, Cal
  • CJ Bailey, NC State
  • CJ Carr, Notre Dame
  • Josh Hoover, TCU
  • Taylen Green, Arkansas
  • Sawyer Robertson, Baylor
  • Ty Simpson, Alabama
  • Husan Longstreet, USC
  • Duece Knight, Auburn
  • Julian Lewis, Colorado
  • Bear Bachmeier, BYU
  • Rocco Becht, Iowa State
  • Drake Lindsey, Minnesota

Tier 7 - Bench Depth

Veteran back-ups with upside, young passers with potential and devy players who are worth keeping an eye on are featured in this tier.

This tier is filled with 2028 quarterbacks you want to learn about now-Matt Zollers, Bryce Baker, Malachi Singleton. It also has 2026 Day 3 prospects in Haynes King, Behren Morton, and Brendan Sorsby.

  • Eli Holstein, Pitt
  • Behren Morton, Texas Tech
  • Jalen Milroe
  • Shedeur Sanders
  • Russell Wilson
  • Anthony Richardson
  • Tyrod Taylor
  • Tavien St. Clair, Ohio State
  • Kirk Cousins
  • Austin Simmons, Ole Miss
  • Aidan Chiles, Michigan State
  • Will Howard
  • Matt Zollers, Missouri
  • Bryce Baker, North Carolina
  • Avery Johnson, Kansas State
  • Cooper Rush
  • Nico Iamaleava, UCLA
  • Maalik Murphy, Oregon State
  • Haynes King, Georgia Tech
  • Marcel Reed, Texas A&M
  • Brendan Sorsby, Cincinnati
  • Quinn Ewers
  • Kyle McCord
  • Riley Leonard
  • Jake Browning
  • Joe Milton III
  • Marcus Mariota
  • George MacIntyre, Tennessee
  • Ethan Grunkmeyer, Penn State
  • Malachi Singleton, Arkansas
  • Cameron Dyer, Arizona State
  • Miller Moss, Louisville
  • Kevin Jennings, SMU
  • Carson Wentz
  • Air Noland, South Carolina
  • Thomas Castellanos, Florida State
  • Athan Kaliakmanis, Rutgers

Grinding the Waiver Wire

5 players available in at least 76% of leagues who can improve your lineup.

Editors note: if you have played in a Rookie Big Board league over the past six seasons you know Becks. He has brought home over a half dozen championships and built a few perennial powerhouses. A key piece of that success is his ability to scour the waiver wire to find value. He will be providing weekly targets that are rostered in 35% or less of leagues on Sleeper. These are his picks and they are all RBB approved.

We’ve been on a roll here lately. Last week’s recommendation Kendrick Bourne had a career game with 10 receptions for 142 yards in the 49ers Thursday night upset of the Rams. Week 4 recommendation Kimani Vidal has ascended the Chargers depth chart with Omarion Hampton’s ankle injury and week 1 recommendation Mitchell Evans scored the game-winning touchdown for the Panthers. Let’s keep grinding the wire.

Ryan Flournoy, WR (6% rostered) - It’s no secret the Cowboys have been hit with a slew of injuries this year. They lost CeeDee Lamb to a high ankle sprain in week 3 and lost KaVontae Turpin to a foot sprain this past week. Staring at the hospital ward that is the WR room, head coach Brian Schottenheimer installed Flournoy as a starter in week 5 and the second-year player responded. He torched the Jets secondary for 114 yards receiving and added another 10 yards rushing to boot. Until other players heal up, Flournoy looks to be a real weapon on this fast-paced offense.

Samaje Perine, RB (24%) - The Bengals offense with Jake Browning at the helm has been, in a word, dysfunctional. Chase Brown has struggled to find running lanes behind a subpar offensive line and the team has been stuck playing from behind in every game. This weekly script has led to Perine seeing increased usage. He played a season-high 47% of the snaps for Cincinnati on Sunday, gaining 29 yards and catching 2 passes.

Andy Dalton, QB (11%) - After finishing the 2024 season on a heater, Bryce Young has taken a step back this year. He has been held under 200 yards passing in 80% of the Panthers’ games thus far and the team finds itself sitting at 2-3. To be clear, I don’t believe head coach Dave Canales is considering a switch to Dalton at this time, but if the team continues to struggle the decision may come at some point.

Daniel Bellinger, TE (8%) - Two games into the Jaxson Dart experiment, one thing is clear: the man loves his tight ends. Sure, this is partially due to losing superstar Malik Nabers for the season, but it’s true nonetheless. In Dart’s two starts, Giants TEs have accumulated 14 receptions, with Bellinger responsible for 5 of those. He’s currently seeing the field beside Theo Johnson in 2 TE sets but the former fourth-rounder could expand his role going forward.

Davis Allen, TE (5%) - With starter Tyler Higbee injured, it was Allen who saw the most snaps at TE for the Rams in week 5. The production wasn’t there as he only finished the week with 24 yards, but Allen does have at least 1 catch in 5 straight games. Still just 24 in his third year, the Rams seem to trust him over rookie Terrance Ferguson at this stage of the season.

Devy Stock Report: Week 6 Risers

Thw 2026 class is starting to take shape, including a new first round quarterback candidate.

  • Miami QB Carson Beck is back in the first round conversation. Beck completed 20/27 attempts for 241 yards and 4 touchdowns in Miami's convincing win against Florida State.
  • Miami true freshman WR Malachi Toney caught 7 balls for 107 yards and 2 touchdowns against Florida State. He has been one of the best surprises of the early season in the 2028 class.
  • Miami Senior WR CJ Daniels caught 5 balls for 78 yards and 2 touchdowns. Daniels is playing his way into the late Day 2/early Day 3 conversation.
  • Ohio State WR Carnell Tate led the way against Minnesota, with 9 receptions for 183 yards and 1 touchdown. Tate leads the Buckeyes with 18.1 yards/reception on the season. He's headed for the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft.
  • Ohio State RB Bo Jackson rushed for 63 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries against Minnesota. The true freshman is now the lead rusher in the Buckeyes backfield, and is averaging 7.5 yards/carry on 48 attempts this season.
  • Texas A&M RB Rueben Owens rushed for 142 yards on 21 carries against Mississippi State. Owens is an electric runner who has been hampered by injuries. If the former 5 star recruit strings together a few more games like this, he will shoot up the rankings.
  • Florida WR Dallas Wilson caught 6 balls for 111 yards and 2 touchdowns in his collegiate debut. Wilson sat atop the 2028 rankings at the start of the season but a hamstring injury kept him off the field prior to this week. Wilson has the potential to match Ryan Williams' value by the start of next season.
  • Florida QB DJ Lagway completed 75% of his 28 attempts for 298 yards, 2 touchdowns, 1 interception against Texas. Lagway is far from regaining my confidence but he deserves credit for leading his offense to a big win.
  • Texas WR Ryan Wingo caught 4 balls for 73 yards and a touchdown. Wingo has been oddly quiet early in the season; hopefully this is a sign of more to come.
  • Alabama RB Jam Miller ran for 136 yards and a touchdown against Vanderbilt. Miller is a power-based volume back who should go early Day 3 in the 2026 NFL Draft. He missed the start of the season with injury but has performed well in each of his first two games back.
  • Texas Tech WR Caleb Douglas caught 7 balls for 114 yards against Houston. The Senior is sure to catch the eye of Senior Bowl staff-he has 18 receptions for 240 yards and 1 touchdown to start the season.
  • Michigan RB Justice Haynes rushed for 117 yards and 2 touchdowns on 19 carries against Wisconsin. Another strong performance for my current RB1 in the 2026 class.
  • Notre Dame WR Malachi Fields caught 4 balls for 44 yards and an impressive touchdown against Boise State. The Senior wide receiver is leading the Fighting Irish receiver room this season and gaining momentum as a Day 3 priority selection.
  • Illinois WR Hank Beatty had 5 receptions, 186 yards, 1 touchdown against Purdue. The Senior wideout has played his way into my rankings with 569 yards, 2 touchdowns and 32 receptions through the first 6 games of the season.
  • Louisville WR Chris Bell scored twice while pulling in 170 yards on 12 receptions against a tough Virginia defense. Bell now ranks 9th in the country with 502 receiving yards this season.
  • BYU WR Chase Roberts caught 4 balls for 161 yards against West Virginia. Roberts is on Senior Bowl watch after recording 20 catches for 395 yards and 3 touchdowns through his first 5 games.
  • USF QB Byrum Brown threw for 4 touchdowns and 211 yards while rushing for 162 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries. Brown will get a lot of national attention as he leads USF's strong bid to get the G5 playoff spot. That could lead to a high profile transfer this offseason.
  • Clemson QB Cade Klubnik completed 22/24 attempts for 254 yards, 4 touchdowns against North Carolina. Klubnik desperately needed a strong performance to rebound some draft stock-even if it is against one of the worst teams in the ACC.
  • Clemson WR TJ Moore caught 5 balls for 108 yards and a touchdown. The 2027 eligible wideout has been lost in the chaotic Clemson sauce but is putting together a strong season. He has 20 receptions for 272 yards and 1 touchdown.
  • Buffalo WR Victor Snow caught 6 receptions for 136 yards for 2 touchdowns against Eastern Michigan. Snow now has 29 catches for 410 yards and 5 touchdowns. He is a junior who will get added to the rankings watchlist as either a Day 3 prospect in 2027 or a player who will be looking for a Power 4 upgrade this offseason via the transfer portal.
  • Michigan State WR Nick Marsh caught 4 balls for 41 yards against Nebraska. Marsh led the way for the Spartans, with starting QB Aidan Chiles only throwing for 85 yards. Marsh is a player who is more talented than his situation, he should benefit from the transfer portal prior to entering the 2027 NFL Draft.
  • Duke QB Darien Mensah completed 22/30 attempts for 265 yards, 2 touchdowns. Mensah has completed 70% of his 205 passing attempts for 1,838 yards, 15 touchdowns, 2 interceptions through 6 games. He is playing his way to the top of the 2027 quarterback rankings.
